I'm going to brag a little!

This time 2 weeks ago I was struggling to get Toby to actually sit on his potty seat for more than 10 seconds. When he wasn't sitting on the seat he was running around the house naked, so I was chasing him with a pair of big boy undies trying to convince him that it would be FUN to wear these new undies. I felt a little like a circus clown.

This week...it's amazing, that's all I can say. Yesterday Toby TOLD me when he had to go. We went in and he sat on the seat totally content...did his business and helped me pull his pants up! After 2 full weeks in undies he now knows when he needs to go, he is holding it until we get to the potty and he is fond of the undies.

I am so proud of him. He is growing up so fast and is such a joy to be around. He is talking all the time and communicating in small sentences. (most of which I understand, but not all) He is going to be an amazing big brother! just 6 short weeks to go.

Hooray for Toby!

Hey... what do you think about a roomie reunion when I am in town at the end of the month? I need to meet little Samuel and want to catch up with you and Katie...I imagine it would be easiest to gather at one of your houses. Friday lunch? Email me and let me know what you think!

yeah toby! kelli, you are amazing. i don't think i could do it. i need to but I'm so lazy. congrats. your hard work has paid off. those portable potties are hilarious. i pulled into a parking lot one day this past fall heading in to the church to drop off the kiddos before heading to a bible study, anyway, point of the story is that a friend of mine had her little girl sitting on the portable potty in the back of her SUV. that will be you. newborn dangling in the baby bjorn and toby pooping in your trailblazer. isnt' motherhood priceless? enjoy your last 6 weeks with just one kiddo.

Toby is a boy genius! I knew he could do it. You will appreciate all the time and effort you put into this in 6 short weeks when you are a mother of 2!
Good job kel!

Hi, I was Googling potty training for 18-month-olds and I found your blog. Just curious... is it still going well? Are accidents still common after your son learned how to tell you when he has to go? What do you do when you're out in public; do you fall back on pull-ups or other training pants? Any suggestions would be helpful!
Thanks!
