Its official, Toby is a Red Sox fan. I attempted to convince him that we live in St. Louis and if he wanted to, he could be a Cardinals fan. Without any provocation on my part, he willing chose his first team to support. He actually began to cry when I told him he didn't have to be a Sox fan and I figured, why pick this battle? So, low and behold, here he is, eagerly awaiting his first Red Sox game. Now, as you can see, the joy and splendor of the eternal hope of Spring Training brings a smile to his face, as he is yet to see a 5 game lead crumble amongst the pressure of a weekend series in New York in September... which we all know will lead to his first tears as a Red Sox fan. That will be a right of passage that every Sox fan must endure and there are some things as a dad that I just won't be able to protect him from... With that, we all know things could be worse, it could be a Cubs logo on his chest...

Toby is desperately trying to find his thumb...the pictures are a little blurry, but you'll get the idea.

new pictures
sorry it's been so long, Toby had a cold and Joe was out of town. And I am continually amazed at how little I can get done in a day! But, warmer weather is here and Toby is feeling better.

Super Bowl Sunday
Although they weren't in the SuperBowl this year, Toby dressed to honor of his dad's beloved Patriots.
As you can see, he's not so sure about this shirt...I think he might be a closet Ram's fan!

What a day..
Yesterday was his one month check up, so it started with bath time...
Then we headed to the doctors office to learn that our little guy is growing like a weed. Yes, the scale reads 11.1 lbs! that is almost 3 lbs in 4 weeks! He is 22 3/4 inches long, obviously taking after dad's side of the family.
All the excitement earned him a well deserved nap! Not wanting to brag, but he sleeps like a champ... as long as its during the middle of the day.
And as you can see above, if anyone wants to send Toby some mittens for this cold spell in St. Louis, make sure they are Men's size mediums. He'll be palming a basketball in no time, with his left hand of course. How early is too early to tie his right hand down so he can go to his left??? We'll find out.

Tummy Time!
So "they" tell me that a great way to give a newborn some exercise is to put them on their tummy for a few minutes every day. While on their tummy they will attempt to lift their little head and in doing so they strengthen their neck and back muscles.
Well, our budding athlete takes tummy time to a new level...he sleeps through it!
Joe is intorducing him to basketball early...
