an ode to ben and jerry!

once a year ben and jerry's ice cream celebrates a free cone day...and today was the day! So after dinner we took a family outing to get some ice cream. Toby enjoyed his first cone and LOVED it. he had ice cream from head to toe, it was on Max (our dog) and there was a trail of melted ice cream following him. When it was time to go we had to pry the cone from his sticky fingers and then the tears began to flow! Because I didn't have my camera we had to wait until we got home for a picture. he was considerably cleaner in the pictures, but you get the idea.

he's back!

Toby is finally feeling much more like himself! He is back to his happy, playful self and we love it! We were playing a game where I acted as if I didn't want him to take the blanket off the bed and he'd take it off. He giggled REALLY hard.


Sunday was a beautiful day and we spent the day outside celebrating with some friends. One of Joe's good friends adopted 2 of his step-sons. It is a beautiful story and worthy of celebration!

Matt just shared the news on their blog that they are expecting again! I am so thrilled for them and pray daily for this new life growing.

croup, pneumonia, ear infections

We have been through it! For the last 2 weeks Toby has been really sick. It all started with the croup, that moved to pneumonia and that moved to ear infections...or "ear confections" as Phoebe calls it.
He is currently still running a fever...today is day 13 of him having a fever! He seems to feel better at times but those times don't last long. His sleeping is improving at night, but still doesn't make it through the night without medicine. Please pray for a full and immediate recovery! We are all tired of our little guy feeling bad.
(sorry for no pictures and sorry it's been a while since I've updated...we are just trying to make it through one day at a time and the blog hasn't been high on my list of things to get done.)

When does the pool open?

This morning we tried on some of Toby's swim suits from last year to see if any of them would still fit. Isn't he about the cutest thing you've ever laid eyes on? I told him I was going to spend all summer kissing that cute belly of his! He giggled and ran away from me. Needless to say, he LOVED not having a shirt on! Total BOY!

after Easter

The other morning Toby was VERY quiet...and this is what we found...

He is eatting a wax stick filled with liquid candy...and it's 7:15 AM! (thanks for the Easter candy mom!)

Boy he was really enjoying that candy!
